The tour of the Australian national cricket team to South Africa in the 1969/70 season took place from January 22 to March 10, 1970. The international cricket tour was part of the 1969/70 international cricket season and comprised four tests . South Africa won the Test Series 4–0.
prehistory
Australia previously played a tour in India , for South Africa it was the first tour of the season. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1966/67 season in South Africa . Due to apartheid and the affair of the English player Basil D'Oliveira, which led to the cancellation of the tour in England planned for the following season, this should be the last official tour of South Africa until the 1991/92 season .
