The tour of the Sri Lankan national cricket team to South Africa in the 2000/01 season took place from December 7, 2000 to January 20, 2001. The international cricket tour was part of the 2000/01 international cricket season and included three test matches and six ODIs . South Africa won the test series 2-0 and the ODI series 5-1.

South Africa previously played a tour against New Zealand and Zimbabwe a three-nation tournament in the United Arab Emirates . The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 2000 season in Sri Lanka .
