prehistory
It was the first tour of the season for both teams. The last tour between the two teams took place in England in the 2014 season . The Sri Lankan wicket-keeper batsmen Kusal Perera missed during testing because it in November because of a doping offense during the tour of the West Indies during the tour of New Zealand was banned. Shortly before the tour, however, it became known that it could not be ruled out that the doping substance found in the athlete's urine sample was of natural origin or that it had only developed after the sample was given. As a result, all allegations against the player were dropped.
