The Sri Lankan national cricket team tour to Australia in the 2016/17 season took place from February 17-22, 2017. The international cricket tour was part of the 2016/17 international cricket season and includes three Twenty20s . Sri Lanka won the series 2–1.

prehistory

Australia previously did a tour in New Zealand and Sri Lanka in South Africa . The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in Sri Lanka in the 2016 season . The second Twenty20 is the first international cricket game in Geelong . The short time gap between the last Twenty20 of this tour and the start of Australia's first test in India , which took place only 16 hours later, was controversial .
