Zimbabwe Tri-Series 2016/17

The Zimbabwe Tri-Series 2016/17 was a three-nation tournament in ODI - Cricket and took place from November 14th to 27th, 2016 in Zimbabwe . Participants in the tournament, which is part of the international cricket season 2016/17, were the host Zimbabwe and the national teams from Sri Lanka and the West Indies . In the final, Sri Lanka was able to prevail against Zimbabwe with 6 wickets.

prehistory

Previously, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka played a test series and the West Indies played a tour in the United Arab Emirates against Pakistan . It was originally planned that Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe would host an ODI series against each other, but this was converted into the Tri-Series for financial reasons.

The West Indies named their roster on October 13, 2016. Sri Lanke named its roster on November 5, 2016. Zimbabwe named its roster on November 11, 2016.

In a preliminary round, the three teams each played two games against each other team in a group. There were four points for a win, two for a draw, no result or rejection. The two best placed in the group carry out the final.
