Australia's national cricket team in India for the 2016-17 season

The tour of the Australian national cricket team to India in the 2016/17 season , also known as the 2016/17 Border – Gavaskar Trophy , took place from February 23 to March 29, 2017. The international cricket tour was part of the 2016/17 international cricket season and comprised four tests . India won the series 2–1.

prehistory

India previously played a Test against Bangladesh and Australia played a tour against Sri Lanka that ended just the day before. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 2015/16 season in Australia .

During the test, the Indian team complained when the Australian captain sought outside help before calling the Decision Review System . However, no misconduct was found by the world association ICC.
