The tour of the New Zealand national cricket team to India in the 1988/89 season took place from November 12 to December 19, 1988. The international cricket tour was part of the 1988/89 international cricket season and included three tests and four ODIs . India won the Test Series 2–1 and the ODI Series 4–0.

prehistory

India previously played in the Asia Cup in 1988 , for New Zealand it was the first tour of the season. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1980/81 season in New Zealand .
