The tour of the New Zealand national cricket team to Sri Lanka in the 1998 season took place from May 27th to May 20th. xxxx took place in 1998. The international cricket tour was part of the 1998 international cricket season and included three tests . Sri Lanka won the Test Series 2–1.

It was the first tour of the season for both teams. The last meeting of the two teams against each other took place in the 1996/97 season in New Zealand .
