Pakistani national cricket team in Sri Lanka in the 2014 season
The 2014 season tour of the Pakistani national cricket team to Sri Lanka took place from August 6th to 30th, 2014. The international cricket tour was part of the 2014 international cricket season . It comprised two test matches and three ODIs . Sri Lanka won the test series 2-0 and the ODI series 2-1. In the first innings of the second test, Sri Lanka's bowler Rangana Herath scored 9 wickets, which is the best test result so far for a left arm bowler.

After the test, the Pakistani spin bowler Saeed Ajmal was reported by the referees to the ICC for his bowling technique. After further investigation, this was declared illegal because his arm tilted too much when leaving the ball. He was then banned from international cricket by the ICC. Five months later, his newly learned techniques were approved by the world association.

Originally this ODI should have taken place in Colombo in the Premadasa Stadium. However, due to heavy rainfall in the run-up, it was relocated to Hambantota at short notice.
