West Indies cricket team in Sri Lanka in the 2015/16 season

The series of games of the West Indies Cricket Team in Sri Lanka in the 2015/16 season took place from October 4 to November 11, 2015. The international cricket tour is part of the 2015/16 international cricket season and includes two test matches , three ODIs and two Twenty20s . Sri Lanka won the Test series 2-0 and the ODI series 3-0, while the Twenty20 series ended in a 1-1 draw.

prehistory

Heading

For financial reasons, the Sri Lankan association initially thought about not carrying out a test in Galle, which was nevertheless carried out after cost-saving measures. The second Twenty20 was originally planned for November 12th, but was brought forward one day due to the memorial services of Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera and the associated national day of mourning.

Suspension of Phil Simmons

In the course of the nomination of the ODI cadre of the West Indies, his trainer Phil Simmons criticized the selection of the West Indian Association publicly, and was subsequently suspended from his office. After the tour, and the significant defeats in the Test and ODI series, Simmons was reinstated after a public apology before the last game in the series.
