Asia Cup 2016
The Asia Cup 2016 was the 13th edition of the cricket competition for Asian national teams. It was the first edition to be played in the Twenty20 format and the first to include a qualifying tournament. In the final India was able to prevail against Bangladesh with 8 wickets.
Attendees
The participants were host Bangladesh, the remaining three nations with test status and the United Arab Emirates, which had prevailed in the Asia Cup 2016 qualifier .
format
In a group stage, each team played against each other. The winner of a game got 2 points, for a tie or no result there is 1 point. The two group winners then play the tournament winner in the final.
Squad lists
India named its squad on February 5, Pakistan on February 10, Bangladesh on February 14, and Sri Lanka on February 18.
