Indian national cricket team in Sri Lanka in the 2001 season
The tour of the Indian national cricket team to Sri Lanka in the 2001 season took place from August 8 to 29, 2001. The international cricket tour was part of the 2001 international cricket season and included three test matches . Sri Lanka won the test series 2–1.
prehistory
Both teams previously played a three-nation tournament with New Zealand , which Sri Lanka won in the final against India. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1997/98 season in India .
