NatWest Series 2001
The NatWest Series 2001 was a three-nation tournament that was held from June 7th to 23rd, 2001 in England in one-day cricket . In the tournament, which was part of the 2001 international cricket season, teams from Australia and Pakistan took part alongside the host . In the final, Australia prevailed against Pakistan with 9 wickets.
prehistory
The tournament was ranked between the Tour of Pakistan in England and the Ashes . For Australia it was the first tour of the season.
format
In a preliminary round, each team played against each other three times. There were two points for a win and one point for a draw or no result. The first two of the group qualified for the final and played for the tournament victory.

After the field was stormed by fans again shortly before the end of the game and a steward was injured, English captain Alec Stewart admitted defeat. As a result, shouts were loud to make entering the field by fans a punishable offense.
