The Bristol County Ground is a cricket - Stadium in the English city of Bristol . The stadium serves as the home of the Gloucestershire County Cricket Club .
history
The site was originally acquired by WG Grace . The club has since sold the stadium twice (1919 and 1976) and bought it back years later (1933 and 2004). Today the stadium is part of a general sports complex.
Capacity and infrastructure
In 2009 the stadium had a permanent seating capacity of 3,600, which could be increased to 16,000 with the help of temporary seats. At that time, it was decided to expand the stadium to get the status of an international stadium. After adjustments, it was decided to increase the stadium to a capacity of up to 17,500 seats. A floodlight system was also installed. The two ends are called Bristol Pavilion End and Ashley Down Road End .

In addition to being used in county cricket, international matches are also played here. So when were 1983 Cricket World Cup a game and the 1999 Cricket World Cup played two games. At the Cricket World Cup 2019 , four games are to take place here. Home games of the English national team also take place here regularly .
