The tour of the Indian national cricket team to the West Indies in the 1982/83 season took place from February 23 to April 7, 1983. The international cricket tour was part of the 1982/83 international cricket season and included five tests and three ODIs . The West Indies won Test Series 2–0 and ODI Series 2–1.

prehistory

India previously played a tour in Pakistan , for the West Indies it was the first tour of the season. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1978/79 season in India .
