Zimbabwean cricket team in the West Indies for the 2006 season

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2006 season tour of the Zimbabwean cricket team to the West Indies took place from April 29 to May 14, 2006. The international cricket tour was part of the 2006 international cricket season and included seven ODIs . The West Indies won the series 5-0.

prehistory

It is the first tour of the season for both teams. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 2003/04 season in Zimbabwe . Originally two tests were planned on this tour, but in January of that year a player's strike in the Zimbabwean team resulted in an intervention by the Zimbabwean government. Then Zimbabwe suspended itself from test cricket and it should take until the 2011 season before Zimbabwe contested the next test. The two tests were then converted into two ODIs.
