The Beausejour Stadium is a cricket stadium near Gros Islet in the Gros-Islet-Quarter on Saint Lucia . It can seat 20,000 spectators. On April 5, 2016 it was announced that the stage in Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium to be renamed after captain Darren Sammy with the West Indies , the ICC World Twenty20 2016 won. It owes its previous name to the Beausejour hills. The facility was built on an area of ​​around 9 hectares . Guest teams have 18 accommodations with their own training room, lounge and meeting room.

The first match was held on June 8, 2002 as One-Day International . The West Indies faced New Zealand . In June 2003 the first test match between the West Indies and Sri Lanka was played here. During the Cricket World Cup 2007 six group matches and one semi-final were played in this stadium, at the ICC World Twenty20 2010 four group and intermediate round matches and both semi-finals were played.

The stadium is also used for soccer games and other soccer events.
