Pakistani national cricket team in England in the 2010 season
The tour of the Pakistani cricket team to England in the 2010 season took place from 29 July until 22 September, 2010. It was an international cricket tour held as part of the 2010 international cricket season and included two Twenty20s , five ODIs and four Test matches . England won the two Twenty20s, the ODI series 3-2 and the Test series 3-1. The ODI games were part of the ICC ODI Championship , the tests part of the ICC Test Championship . A betting scandal in which Pakistani players were involved caused a stir.
prehistory
After Pakistan was unable to play any more home games on the 2008/09 tour due to the attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore , a tour of the Pakistanis against Australia in England took place before this tour . In May there was a clash between England and Pakistan at the ICC World Twenty20 2010 in the Super 8 phase, which England won with 6 wickets.

Squad lists
Pakistan named its Twenty20 and Test squad on June 20, 2010. The selection was viewed as controversial, so those responsible had to answer to committees in the Pakistani Senate. On July 16, scheduled captain Sahid Afridi announced that he would retire from test cricket before the tour. He was succeeded by Salman Butt . England named their test squad on July 25, and the remaining squads on August 31.

controversy
On the third day of the fourth test in London, the English daily News of the World published allegations of corruption against Pakistani players. At the heart of the allegations was Mazher Majeed , who at a meeting led by undercover reporters alleged for a sum of 150,000 pounds that he would allow the Pakistani team to play bowlers in predetermined overs no balls . This would make it possible to place appropriate bets on this event and thus commit betting fraud. The investigations initiated as a result concentrated next to Majeed on the Pakistani captain Salman Butt and the bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir . The players were immediately suspended by the world association ICC. In a trial in a London court, Butt was sentenced to two years and six months, Asif to one year and Amir to six months in prison. Majeed's sentence was set at two years and 8 months. Only from September 2015 will the players be allowed to participate in organized cricket again subject to strict conditions.
