The Irish national cricket team's tour to England for the 2017 season ran from May 5 to May 7, 2017. The international cricket tour was part of the 2017 international cricket season and included two ODIs . England won the series 2-0.

prehistory

It was the first tour of the season for both teams. It was the first time that these two teams played an official tour against each other. So far, encounters have been limited to either international tournaments or tour matches as part of other tours. The tour overlapped with the Indian Premier League 2017 , so that the English team did not have individual players. Shortly before the tour, it was announced that Ireland might be granted test status the following June .
