from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Irish national cricket team tour to England for the 2020 season took place from July 30th to August 4th, 2020. The international cricket tour was part of the 2020 international cricket season and included three ODIs . The ODIs were the first series within the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League 2020-2022 . England won the series 2–1.

prehistory

England previously played a tour against the West Indies , for Ireland it is the first tour of the season. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in England in the 2019 season .

The series was originally planned for September of that year, but was brought forward due to the COVID-19 pandemic . Southampton was chosen as the stadium, also because it includes a hotel infrastructure that made it possible to isolate the teams before and during the tour.
