The New Zealand national cricket team's tour to England in the 1978 season took place from July 15 to August 28, 1978. The international cricket tour was part of the 1978 international cricket season and included three tests and two ODIs . England won the Test Series 3-0 and the ODI Series 2-0.

England previously played a tour against Pakistan , for New Zealand it was the first tour of the season. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1977/78 season in New Zealand .
