The tour of the New Zealand national cricket team to Australia in the 1980/81 season took place from November 28 to December 30, 1980. The international cricket tour was part of the 1980/81 international cricket season and included three tests . Australia won the series 2–0.

prehistory

It is the first tour of the season for both teams. At the same time, both teams played a three-nation tournament together with India . The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1976/77 season in New Zealand .
