The tour of the South African national cricket team to Australia in the 2005/06 season took place from December 16, 2005 to January 9, 2006. The international cricket tour was part of the 2005/06 international cricket season and included three tests and a twenty20 . Australia won the Test Series 2–0 and the Twenty20 Series 1–0.

Australia previously played a tour in New Zealand , South Africa in India . The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 2001/02 season in Australia . On this tour, South Africa played its first Twenty20 International.

The Australian Glenn McGrath was officially cautioned because of openly showing dissatisfaction with a referee decision. After his test debut, the South African bowler Johan Botha was reported to the world association for illegal technology and banned after tests a month later. It was not until November of that year that, after further tests, he was approved for international games again.
