South African national cricket team in India in the 2004/05 season

The tour of the South African national cricket team to India in the 2004/05 season took place from November 20 to December 2, 2004. The international cricket tour was part of the 2004/05 international cricket season and included two tests . India won the series 1–0.

prehistory

India previously played the BCCI Plantinum Jubilee Match against Pakistan , South Africa played the first tour of the season. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 2001/02 season in South Africa . South Africa threatened to cancel the tour because the Indian police wanted to question the two players Herschelle Gibbs and Nicky Boje in connection with the match-fixing scandal of the tour of South Africa in India in the 1999/2000 season . The tour took place when it became clear that the Indian police wanted to avoid questioning the two players with questionnaires, but ultimately both players withdrew from the tour.
