Australia's national cricket team in India in the 2000/01 season

The Australian national cricket team's tour to India in the 2000/01 season took place from February 17 to April 6, 2001. The international cricket tour was part of the 2000/01 international cricket season and included three test matches and five ODIs . India won the Test Series 2–1 while Australia won the ODI Series 3–2.

prehistory

India previously played a tour in Zimbabwe , Australia a three-nation tournament . The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1999/00 season in Australia .

The Australian inaugural batsman Michael Slater had received a warning from the referee based on comments made to the referee and the Indian player Rahul Dravid . When he shared the comments in an interview on Australian radio, the referee imposed a fine and a game ban.
