The tour of the Australian national cricket team to India in the 1979/80 season took place from September 11 to November 7, 1979. The international cricket tour was part of the 1979/80 international cricket season and comprised six tests . India won the series 2–0.

It was the first tour of the season for both teams. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1977/78 season in Australia .
