Australian national cricket team in South Africa in the 2011-12 season

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The tour of the Australian national cricket team to South Africa in the 2011/12 season took place from October 13 to November 21, 2011. The international cricket tour was part of the 2011/12 international cricket season and included two tests , three ODIs and two Twenty20s . The Test and Twenty20 series ended 1-1, while Australia won the ODI series 2-1.

prehistory

For both teams it was the first tour of the season, the last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the season 2008/09 in Australia . Instead of the usual three tests, only two tests were scheduled between the teams due to time restrictions. In order to compensate for the omitted test, four tests were agreed for the planned tour in 2014 , but these were again limited to three. Since the South African association CSA could not find a title sponsor for the Twenty20 series, it awarded the rights free of charge to the charity Make a Difference .
