The Australian national cricket team's tour to England in the 1980 season took place from August 20 to September 2, 1980. The international cricket tour was part of the 1980 international cricket season and included a test and two ODIs . England won the ODI series 2-0, while the Test ended in a draw.

prehistory

England previously played a tour against the West Indies , for Australia it was the first tour of the season. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1979/80 season in Australia . The background to this encounter was the 100th anniversary of the first test in England between the two teams .
