Ashes Tour 1972

The Ashes Tour 1972 was the tour of the Australian national cricket team , which included the 46th edition of the Ashes , and was held between June 8 and August 28, 1972. The international cricket tour was part of the 1972 international cricket season and included five test matches and three ODIs . The test series ended 2-2 in a draw, so England could keep the Ashes as defending champions. England won the ODI series 2–1.

It was the first tour of the season for both teams. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1970/71 season in Australia .
