Australia national cricket team against Pakistan in the 2014-15 season
The game series of the Australian national cricket team against Pakistan in the 2014/15 season took place from October 5 to November 3, 2014 in the United Arab Emirates . The international cricket tour was part of the 2014/15 international cricket season and included a Twenty20 , three ODIs and two test matches . Australia won the Twenty20 and ODI series 3-0, while Pakistan won the Test series 2-0.
prehistory
venue
Since the attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore on March 3, 2009, Pakistan is no longer considered a safe venue for international cricket matches. As a consequence, the Pakistani national team has played its home games mostly in the United Arab Emirates since then.
Last encounters
The last tour between Pakistan and Australia took place in 2012, then also in the United Arab Emirates. However, no test matches were played there, which was the last time in 2010 in England .
Change of captain in Twenty20
Australia announced a month before the tour started that Aaron Finch would take over the captaincy of the Australian team in the Twenty20 format. This change was necessary after the previous captain George Bailey had announced his resignation due to a priority for test cricket.
