The New Zealand national cricket team tour against Pakistan in the 2018/19 season took place in the United Arab Emirates from October 31 to December 7, 2018 . The international cricket tour was part of the 2018/19 international cricket season and included three tests , three ODIs and three Twenty20s . New Zealand won the Test series 2−1, Pakistan won the Twenty20 series 3–0, while the ODI series 1–1 ended in a draw.

prehistory

Pakistan previously competed against Australia in the United Arab Emirates , and it is New Zealand's first tour of the season. The last meeting of the two teams took place in New Zealand in the 2017/18 season . Pakistan tried to convince New Zealand to host the Twenty20 series in Pakistan, which the New Zealand Association refused for security reasons.

The series win was the first win of a test series New Zealand against Pakistan on foreign soil in 49 years. The last win came in the 1969/70 season in Pakistan . During the test, Pakistani all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez announced his retirement from test cricket.
