The tour of the New Zealand national cricket team to Australia in the season 1987/88 took place from 4th to 30th December 1987. The international cricket tour was part of the 1987/88 international cricket season and included three tests . Australia won the series 1–0.

prehistory

Both teams previously played at the 1987 Cricket World Cup , in which New Zealand failed in the group stage and Australia won the tournament. The last meeting of the two teams took place in the 1985/86 season in New Zealand .
