prehistory
Heading
The tour took place as part of the ICC Future Tours Program 2011–2020. Due to the incidents in Lahore in 2009 , Pakistan had to hold this home tour on neutral ground in the United Arab Emirates. For cost reasons, Pakistan made use of its right to waive the hot spot system in the Decision Review System .
classification
The tour was the second of three tours in which the two teams met in 2013. In February and March of that year, Pakistan played a full tour in South Africa , as well as immediately after this tour , where only ODI and Twenty20 games took place. For South Africa it was also the first test since the meeting in spring. In June there was a clash between the two teams in the preliminary round at the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 that South Africa could win. For both teams, the Twenty20 Games marked the start of preparation for the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 the following March.
