South African national cricket team in Zimbabwe in the 2001/02 season

The tour of the South African national cricket team to Zimbabwe in the 2001/02 season took place from 7 to 30 September 2001. The international cricket tour was part of the 2001/02 international cricket season and included two test matches and three ODIs . South Africa won the test series 1-0 and the ODI series 3-0.

prehistory

It was the first tour of the season for both teams. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in South Africa in the 2000/01 season . Due to unrest in Zimbabwe, the hosting of the tour was questionable until shortly before it was to take place, but South Africa decided to host it. Zimbabwe named its test roster on August 31, 2001 and its ODI roster on September 18, 2001.
