LG Aban's Triangular Series 2001/02

The 2001/02 LG Abans Triangular Series was a three-nation tournament that was held from December 8 to 19, 2001 in Sri Lanka in one-day cricket . In the tournament, which was part of the 2001/02 international cricket season, teams from Zimbabwe and the West Indies took part alongside the host . In the final, Sri Lanka was able to prevail against the West Indies with 34 runs ( D / L ).

prehistory

The tournament took place as a result of the test series between Sri Lanka and the West Indies , which Sri Lanka won 3-0. Zimbabwe previously played a tour in Bangladesh .

format

In a preliminary round, each team played against each other once. There were four points for a win, two points for a draw or no result. Bonus points were also awarded. The first two of the group qualified for the final and played for the tournament victory.
