The Harare Sports Club is a Cricket - Stadium in the Zimbabwean capital Harare . The stadium serves as the home of the Mashonaland Eagles and one of two test stadiums currently in use in Zimbabwe.

history

The original name was Salisbury Sports Club. Since it was founded in 1909, the stadium has served as the center of cricket in Zimbabwe and what was then Rhodesia .

Capacity and infrastructure

The stadium has a capacity of 10,000 and a floodlight system has existed since 2011. The two ends are called Prayag End and Cycle Pure End .

use

The stadium hosted Zimbabwe's first test , which was played against India in 1992 . Since then it has been a regular venue for the national team. At the 2003 Cricket World Cup , three games were played in the stadium. Aside from international cricket, it is the home ground of the Mashonaland Eagles as part of the national Zimbabwean cricket.
