Life

Hafeez was appointed to the team for the first time after Pakistan's poor performance in the 2003 Cricket World Cup . In his second test against Bangladesh he won the first Century. However, after a poor performance at the end of 2003, they were eliminated from the squad. Good performance in national competitions led to his return to the national team in 2005. He was commended for his good performance in bowling. He stayed in the roster on the tours against the West Indies and England . Hafeez scored his second Test Century against the West Indies in Karachi . He was not considered for the squad for the next few years because of his poor fitness. He was taken into account again for the 2010 ICC World Twenty20 . He performed poorly in the competition but was considered for the 2010 Tour of Pakistan in England . During the tour he scored the second most runs behind Kamran Akmal and was therefore considered for the following tour against South Africa . He was appointed opening batsman for the tour. He scored the most runs as a batsman and most wickets as a bowler, cementing his place on the team. He won 10 man-of-the-match trophies in 2011 and was only the third cricketer to score 1000 runs and get 30 wickets in the calendar year. With Nasir Jamshed, Hafeez set the record for the highest opening partnership against Bangladesh at the 2012 Asia Cup . Both batsman scored a total of 224 runs. They topped the record of Saeed Anwar and Aamer Sohail , who together scored 144 runs. Mohammad Hafeez was elected captain of the Twenty20 team in 2012. The Pakistan Cricket Board criticized Hafeez for putting together the squad for the 2012 Twenty20 World Cup . Mohammad Hafeez won victories against South Africa, West Indies and Zimbabwe as captain. He took the most wins in the T20 as captain. Mohammad Hafeez scored the most runs as captain in 2012, leading Pakistan to second place on the Twenty20 rankings. Hafeez's bowling action has been reviewed multiple times by the ICC . Tests showed that his bowling action did not comply with the rules of cricket. Hafeez was banned from bowling for 12 months. Hafeez became part of the national team again after his suspension.
