Ashes Tour 1956
The 1956 Ashes Tour was the tour of the Australian national cricket team , which included the 40th edition of the Ashes , and was held between June 7 and August 28, 1956. The international cricket tour was part of the 1956 international cricket season and included five test matches . England won the series 2–1.

It was the first tour of the season for both teams. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1954/55 season in Australia .
