Irish national cricket team against Afghanistan in the 2016-17 season
The Irish national cricket team's tour against Afghanistan in the 2016/17 season took place in India from March 8 to 31, 2017 . The international cricket tour was part of the 2016/17 international cricket season and included five ODIs and three Twenty20s . Furthermore, a first-class match was contested because the two teams are not authorized to hold test matches , which were part of the ICC Intercontinental Cup 2015-2017 . Afghanistan won the ODI series 3–2 and the Twenty20 series 3–0.
prehistory
Afghanistan previously played three Twenty20s in the United Arab Emirates , Ireland played two ODIs in the United Arab Emirates . The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 2016 season in Ireland , the ODI series 2–2 ended in a draw.
