Melika Mahmutbegović (born April 20, 1959 in Bugojno , Yugoslavia ) is a Bosnian politician and surgeon . She has been the Vice President of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2014.

Life

Mahmutbegović was born in Bugojno in 1959 . There she attended elementary school and high school. In 1983 she finished her studies at the Medical Faculty in Sarajevo . After graduating, she worked as a family doctor for the Bugojno Health Center. In 1988 she was allowed to work as a surgeon.

Since April 1992 she has been a member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina .

In 1995 she was elected director of the Bugojno Medical Center. In 1998 she was elected member of the SBK's cantonal assembly in the parliamentary elections. In 1999 she finished her health management in the Sarajevo State Clinic. In the 2002 general election, she was elected as a member of the House of Representatives of Parliament. In 2010 she was re-elected to the House of Representatives. In October 2010 she was appointed a master's degree in medical science with the subject: "Značaj FNA u zlatnom standardu dijagnostike i terapije karcinoma dojke" (The importance of FNA in the gold standard of diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer). At the Faculty of Economics of the University of Sarajevo in 2010 and 2012, she finished the first and second stages of health management - health economics.

In 2014 she was elected Vice President of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
