Sixx Austria (own spelling: sixx AUSTRIA ) is an offshoot of the German broadcaster Sixx for Austria. It started on July 3, 2012 at 8:15 p.m. and replaces Austria 9, which was taken over by ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE in May . Sixx Austria's program is designed for the Austrian market in cooperation with sixx and Puls 4 . Bernhard Albrecht took over the new station management .

history

At the beginning of 2012, SevenOne Media Austria GmbH, as a subsidiary of ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE and responsible for business in Austria, announced that it intends to take over the private broadcaster Austria 9 TV. The purchase was completed in April 2012 and Austria 9 TV was integrated into the ProSiebenSat.1 Austria Group. The aim of this acquisition is to build up and market an offshoot of the German broadcaster Sixx . Sixx Austria will be receivable from the start of broadcasting for 82% of households in Austria, as the existing capacities are used.

The relaunch of the station started on July 3rd from the current Rosenhügel film studios. As SevenOne Media Austria GmbH announced shortly after the takeover, all Austrian broadcasters will move to the Media Quarter Marx at the end of 2012.

On July 3, 2012, Sixx Austria started broadcasting punctually at 8:15 p.m. with the comedy 27 Dresses , on the previous slot of Austria 9. Sixx Austria can be received unencrypted across Europe via satellite and in the Austrian cable network.
