Sportdeutschland.TV (own spelling: SPORTDEUTSCHLAND.TV ) is a German online sports broadcaster that was started in August 2014 by DOSB New Media GmbH.
Emergence
In 2011, DOSB and GIP Media Productions GmbH founded DOSB New Media GmbH, based in Cologne, for the development of online applications for German sports. In August 2014, DOSB New Media activated the Sportdeutschland.TV website. The aim of the online channel is to broadcast a wide range of sports. Sports and events are also included in the program that have not found a place on the established major broadcasters.
On October 14, 2014 DOSB New Media received a broadcasting license for 10 years from the State Agency for Media in North Rhine-Westphalia . The official start as a special- interest program was December 9, 2014. On July 22, 2015, ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE took over 57.5 percent of the shares in DOSB New Media GmbH. DOSB and GIP Media Productions GmbH will remain in the company as minority shareholders .
Program and sports
In terms of content, the broadcaster's program focuses primarily on sports highlights, summaries and background reports from known and lesser-known sports. In addition, several live streams of national leagues and major events (including men's handball European championship , volleyball Bundesliga ) are offered on the website every week . Sportdeutschland.TV reported on the 2016 Olympic Games with a fan reporter, short summaries and the broadcast of the German team's press conferences.
