Deluxe Music is a German TV station based in Landshut , which mainly broadcasts music videos for a wide audience.
On March 16, 2012, HV Fernsehbetriebs GmbH took over Deluxe Television GmbH. In the course of this, Deluxe Television GmbH was renamed Just Music Fernsehbetriebs GmbH and the company headquarters relocated to Landshut.
In the cable network , the station can be received via Pÿur , NetCologne , Telekom Entertain , Vodafone Kabel Deutschland and Vodafone West (previously Unitymedia).
On the Internet, the program is fed in via IPTV from several providers, as well as being offered as Internet television on streaming services such as Zattoo and on the broadcaster's own website.
history
The Deluxe Television GmbH , based in Ismaning near Munich, was by the German media entrepreneurs Mark Langemann founded and Cosmin-Gabriel Ene year of 2004. Deluxe Music first aired on April 1, 2005. The first played music video was The Best of Tina Turner .
Deluxe Music currently reaches over 30 million households in Europe via cable and satellite , including around fifteen million in Germany. The program was also distributed to North America between October 1, 2005 and May 1, 2006 . Since the beginning of 2008, Deluxe Music has also been broadcasting in Dolby Digital 5.1 .
In the Pay TV area, Deluxe Television broadcast a total of four channels. The channels Deluxe Rock, Deluxe Soul and Deluxe Groove , for example, were broadcast on Telekom Entertain's pay TV service . The channel Deluxe Lounge HD was broadcast on KabelBW and Vodafone TV. Deluxe Lounge HD showed landscape and nature recordings with music in the chill-out / lounge areas, in Dolby Digital 5.1.
There are also the deluxe radio and deluxe lounge radio offshoots . These were broadcast in the cable network of Munich, North Rhine-Westphalia and Baden-Württemberg and Europe-wide and digitally via the Astra satellite. The stations can currently only be received via stream via the Internet or a corresponding mobile app for mobile devices.
In January 2010, co-founder and managing director Cosmin Ene left the company and founded LaterPay , an Internet payment provider.
In November of the same year, the founder Markus Langemann also left the management, while Kate Lebedeff remained as sole managing director. Langemann stayed with the company as a partner.
In 2011 the number of programs on Deluxe Music was increased to 26, most of which are based on musical genres. New programs include Deluxe Backbeats, Deluxe Soul, Made in Germany and UK Sensations. There are also programs with an editorial focus such as Deluxe Art with particularly sophisticated music clips or Deluxe Cinema with soundtracks. Further series such as concerts and music documentaries are planned.
On January 23, 2012, Deluxe Television GmbH filed for bankruptcy at the Munich District Court .
The cable network operator Vodafone Kabel Deutschland and Unitymedia ended the broadcast in mid-March 2012 . On March 16, 2012 it was announced that the broadcaster had found a new owner with High View Media . For the time being, the station will continue to be received via Internet live stream, via the cable network operators Kabel BW , NetCologne and Tele Columbus, as well as via satellite and the IPTV service Telekom Entertain .
Since December 17, 2012, Deluxe Music has been available in HD via the paid Astra HD + platform.
Since January 1, 2013, Deluxe Music no longer broadcasts in Dolby Digital , but only in stereo. The new screen design was introduced at the end of the month . Since then, the SD version has merged with the HD version.
On February 26, 2013, Unitymedia added the HD version of the channel to its range. In Switzerland, Deluxe Music HD is available from Swisscom on the former slot of Deluxe Lounge HD. On May 29, 2013, Kabel Deutschland took the SD variant of the channel back into its offer in encrypted form.
On December 23, 2014, the station broadcast a moderated program for the first time, the weekly program Update Deluxe with Jennifer Weist , the front woman of the band Jennifer Rostock . Previously, the video clips were only sent without comment. Since December 2015, Markus Kavka , the former presenter of MTV Germany , has been presenting the series Kavka Deluxe with personal stories from selected music videos.
Since July 14, 2016, the SD version of the station can be seen again unencrypted on Kabel Deutschland.
A sister channel Deluxe Lounge HD can be received on the Hbb TV platform TV Plus .
On February 12, 2019, Deluxe Music introduced a new on-air design and new station logo.

target group
The main target group are people between the ages of 25 and 55 who do not or only partially identify with the programs of the music video broadcaster MTV (mostly aimed at a younger audience) . VH-1 Germany had a similar target group in the 1990s . Many of the current shows show more music videos within the mainstream, making the program more accessible to a wider and younger audience and significantly increasing its success.
Deluxe Lounge HD
Deluxe Lounge HD was a pay TV channel that only showed lounge music in conjunction with high-definition nature images for 24 hours. The channel was discontinued at the end of 2012 in favor of Deluxe Music HD. The program can now be received again via the streaming provider Mobile2Morrow .
Other special interest channels
The station announced the broadcast of two more music video stations for 2005 and 2006. A transmitter for electronic music (Deluxe Nova) and a classic channel (Deluxe Classic) were planned. Both channels have not yet started and an official launch date has not been announced. Meanwhile, Deluxe Television was planning more channels. Before the bankruptcy, six further license applications were made, which have already been approved by the responsible media authority and the KEK.
Deluxe Music Lounge
The Deluxe Music Lounge was a package with the channels Deluxe Rock, Deluxe Soul and Deluxe Groove, which was distributed as a paid IPTV offer.
In Germany, the Deluxe Music Lounge could be received via O 2 (Alice) and Vodafone, among others .
