Jennifer Weist (born December 3, 1986 in Wolgast ) is a German rock musician and television presenter . She is the front woman of the band Jennifer Rostock .
Life
Jennifer Weist was in on 3 December 1986 Wolgast born and raised in Zinnowitz on the Baltic island of Usedom on. She finished school with a high school diploma .
Career
music
Weist first played in a band when he was 13 years old. This was called No Fame and was founded by Johannes Walter. She and Walter already knew each other from kindergarten. Walter had asked her during a karaoke competition because he was looking for a singer for his band. In 2004 she founded the band aerials . After graduating from high school, they both moved to Berlin , where they met Alex Voigt, Christoph Deckert and Christopher Kohl. Together they founded the band Jennifer Rostock .
The group got a contract with the record company Warner Music and released their debut album Ins offen Messer in 2008. They took part with the band in the Bundesvision Song Contest , where the band finished fifth. In the same year she played with Jennifer Rostock on the MTV Campus Invasion in Jena . The band also played concerts on a national level as well as in Austria and Switzerland . The second album Der Film was released in July 2009. In September 2011, the group again took part in the Bundesvision Song Contest. The third album Mit Haut und Haar was released in July 2011. A year later, the first live album Live in Berlin was released . The concert was recorded in the Stadtbad Wedding . In January 2014, the fourth studio album was released under the title Schlaflos . In September 2016 the album was released in exactly this tone . In 2017, Worst of Jennifer Rostock was followed by the band's sixth studio album. Afterwards the band announced a break from their joint activities.
Jennifer Weist was part of the MTV Unplugged concert by Peter Maffay in Halle (Saale) . In this context, she recorded the song Leuchtturm unplugged with Maffay. The album reached first place in the German album charts.
The same applies to MTV Unplugged - Live from the Hotel Atlantic by Udo Lindenberg .
As part of Mike Shinoda's Posttraumatic Tour , she appeared as a guest singer on the song A Place For My Head in Berlin at the beginning of March .
Television appearances
In January 2010, Weist took part in The Perfect Dinner . Already in 2009 she had an appearance with the band on Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten , where they played their song You want me to the laundry . On July 5, 2012 and January 22, 2014, Weist was a guest at Markus Lanz and on September 24, 2012 she was seen at Volle Kanne . She has also been seen at Roche & Böhmermann , 1Live Talk with Mrs. Heinrich and at TV Total . She could be seen with the band on SWR3 latenight .
Moderation
Weist has moderated the weekly program Update Deluxe on Deluxe Music since 2014 . The show was first broadcast on December 23, 2014 and was the station's first moderated show.

T-Mobile Local Support Band Contest
In 2009 Jennifer Weist was on the jury of the T-Mobile Local Support Band Contest together with Markus Kavka , Max Herre , Eric Landmann and Christian Pertschy .
Eurovision Song Contest
Weist was in 2014 with the rapper Sido , the two singers Madeline Juno and Andreas Bourani and the music manager Konrad Sommermeyer in the German expert jury of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 . In retrospect, the entire jury was criticized because they suspected they had wanted to prevent Conchita Wurst from winning by giving the entry the worst grades, with Weist placing the interpretation in 9th place, giving the entire jury the best rating .
The X-Factor
In 2018, Weist was part of the X-Factor jury alongside Sido , Iggy Uriarte ( Lions Head ) and Thomas Anders . The program was broadcast on Sky1 .
