MTV Unplugged - Live from the Hotel Atlantic is a live album by the German musician Udo Lindenberg . It was released on October 14, 2011 and entered the German charts at number 1.

history

The album was recorded on June 3, 2011 in the Hamburger Kampnagelfabrik in hall K6 in front of around 300 spectators. Before that, there were two "warm-up shows" and a dress rehearsal. The name “Live from the Hotel Atlantic ” refers to Lindenberg's preferred residence in Hamburg. Guests at the concert included Clueso , Jan Delay , Martin Tingvall , Nathalie Dorra and Inga Humpe . The album was released as a "single" and a "double" edition. In addition, the guests are introduced on a bonus disc.

The album was sold over 1.1 million times in Germany alone, making it one of the best-selling music albums in Germany since 1975. The video album has sold over 200,000 in Germany alone, making it one of the best-selling video albums in Germany since the introduction of the Music Video Awards.

criticism

CD-Ratings.de gave the album 8 out of 10 stars. The critic praised “warm hugs and great duets, drums by Stefan Raab or jam sessions with the panic orchestra. The atmosphere is great and the audience's enthusiasm is transmitted almost effortlessly. ”The“ hard cuts ”between the individual songs were criticized.
