The Fox Sports Networks (formerly Fox Sports Net ) is a composite of regional cable stations in the United States , on sports coverage specialize and 21st Century Fox include. The family also includes the Fox Business Network and Fox News Channel, and Fox News Radio .
The association was founded in 1976 under the name SportsChannel and renamed Fox Sports Net in 1997 . There are currently 24 own stations (without sub- channels ) that cover either metropolitan regions (e.g. Fox Sports Detroit ) or several states (e.g. Fox Sports South ) and negotiate the broadcasting rights with the NHL , NBA and MLB teams based there .
