Hitradio Antenne 1 ( spelling Hitradio antenne 1 , until August 2017 only antenne1 , until February 2014 ANTENNE 1 , until June 2011 Hit-Radio Antenne 1 ) is one of three private area broadcasters in Baden-Württemberg . The station, based in Stuttgart, has its official transmission area in the middle and northeast of the state, but can also be received in adjacent areas.

In Heilbronn , Pforzheim and Reutlingen there are further studios that make regional separation in the program possible. The main shareholder is the Südwestdeutsche Medien Holding , to which the Stuttgarter Zeitung and the Stuttgarter Nachrichten also belong. Hitradio Antenne 1 is located with the two newspapers under the roof of the Stuttgart Press House in the Möhringen district .

history

On July 17, 1989, the antenna 1 program in Stuttgart began broadcasting on the 101.3 MHz frequency. However, it was not a stand-alone broadcaster, but a cooperation between four commercial program providers from the press industry who occupied different broadcast times. In 1994, the State Office for Communication reorganized the broadcasting landscape in Baden-Württemberg. Frequencies were put out to tender for three area channels, each of which should cover around a third of the country. Antenne Radio GmbH & Co. KG based in Stuttgart, founded by the previous Antenne 1 organizers, was awarded the contract as area broadcaster Württemberg Mitte / Nord. On October 1st, 1994, Antenne 1 went on air as a full program between Tauberfranken and the Swabian Alb.

Since the shareholders of the Reutlingen radio station, Radio RT4 , whose transmission area was added to the Württemberg center / north broadcasting station , participated in the Antenne 1 operating company, the program continued to exist as Antenna RT4 from October 1, 1994. The majority of the RT4 program has now been taken over by antenna 1.

From 1997 the local broadcaster Filstalwelle from Göppingen also largely took over the antenna 1 program and therefore renamed itself to Antenne Filstal. It is worth mentioning in this context that antenna 1 was only called antenna in most broadcasts. Only when Antenne RT4 and Antenne Filstal broadcast their own programs did the company name “Antenne 1.” The longstanding claim was “Hits and closer to”.

On January 1, 2000, Antenne 1 changed its name to Hit-Radio Antenne 1. At the same time the separate broadcasts of Antenne RT4 were stopped. The former RT4 studio has since served as the regional studio for Antenne 1. With the introduction of the addition “Hit-Radio”, the broadcaster also changed its image: specialty programs such as Midnight House , Filmzeit or Antenne im Talks were replaced by a continuous, uniform music program with a restricted and Close rotation was discontinued, the news was shortened and regional reporting was significantly reduced. Intensive competitions were then a key part of the program.

At the beginning of 2003, the broadcasting area of the local station Göppingen was combined with that of the local stations in Stuttgart and Esslingen, whereby Hit-Radio Antenne Filstal lost its license. At the same time, the transmission areas of the three area transmitters in the peripheral areas were changed in order to minimize overlaps and thus the competitive situation. Antenna 1 had to surrender its powerful 105.2 MHz frequency in the northern Black Forest and was allocated the weaker 107.0 MHz in Pforzheim and the 105.4 MHz previously used by Hit-Radio Antenne Filstal in the Göppingen district.

From June 2002 to April 2007 the branch program Antenne 1 info digital existed , which was only distributed via DAB .

Since July 2011, the station has only called itself Antenne 1 in its program .

At the beginning of 2014, Antenne 1 carried out the biggest relaunch in the history of the station. From the logo to the broadcast formats and moderators, everything was changed at Antenne 1. The focus was on the commitment to Swabia and the associated closeness to the listeners in connection with the claim "Here for you".

Since August 2016, Antenne 1 has been repositioning itself in Baden-Württemberg and since the end of August 2017 has again been labeled "Hitradio". In addition, Oliver Ostermann can be heard again in the morning. He began his career in a talent competition from Antenne RT4 and then came to Antenne 1. Together with Nadja Gontermann, the two accompany their listeners on the Hitradio Antenne 1 morning show Monday to Friday from five to ten o'clock in the day.
