Nektarios Bamiatzis

Nektarios (* 10. July 1975 in Fellbach , actually Nektarios-Vasilios Bamiatzis) is a German pop and soul singer and radio host of Greek descent, by the RTL telecast Germany Idol was in the years 2002 and 2003 known.

Life

In 2002 Nektarios took part in the first season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar as a finalist. After the third motto show, he was eliminated. Nevertheless, Nektarios (like all ten finalists) was involved in the single We Have a Dream , written and composed by Dieter Bohlen , which was number 1 in the German charts for six weeks , then number 2 for another two weeks. Also under the direction of Dieter At the beginning of 2003, Bohlen released the finalists' album United (in German, United ).

In September 2003, Nektarios released his first single called Looks Like We Made It . The title (produced by Dieter Falk ) reached number 39 in the German charts. For the time being, however, this remained the musician's only solo project.

At Christmas 2003 Nektarios took part in the TV Allstars project , a temporary association of German artists, including No Angels , Bro'Sis , Preluders , Overground and the winners of the first Star Search season. The TV Allstars released a cover of the benefit song Do They Know It's Christmas? found out which was represented in the top 10 of the German charts for four weeks. This was followed by the joint album The Ultimate Christmas Album , on which each artist sings a Christmas carol, Nektarios the gospel Amazing Grace .

In November 2004 four of the former ten DSDS finalists joined forces again for a project. In addition to Nektarios, Stefanie Brauckmeyer, Gracia Baur and Daniel Küblböck also formed 4 United . The name is based on the previous album of the finalists United . Together, the four artists released a single called Don't Close Your Eyes . The highest chart placement for it was 18th place. Then 4 United separated again.

In addition, Nektarios was represented on the Sampler Songs for a Season among several German artists who profess their Christian faith. On this album he sings another Christmas song.

From autumn 2008 to March 2011, Nektarios could be heard from Mondays to Fridays on Baden-Württemberg's largest private radio station Hit-Radio ANTENNE 1 as “traffic jam pilot Nektarios” and presented the latest traffic reports as part of his traineeship. Since the beginning of June 2012 he can be heard on the local radio groups in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland as a newscaster.

In December 2008 Nektarios formed the formation RecAllstars with casting artists from pop stars , Deutschland sucht den Superstar , Star Search and Stefan Raab's Super Grand Prix Star . In addition to the version sung by all participating artists, the download single Christmas Time contained 14 other versions in which the song was also interpreted by each artist in his own way. For the album Merry Christmas! he contributed the song Merry Christmas to Everyone .

radio

Bamiatzis largely withdrew from active pop music. He worked as a radio host for Antenne 1 and can now be heard on Radio Merzig . In 2009 he ran for the CDU Fellbach as a councilor.
