Matthias Raidt

Matthias Otto Raidt (born July 29, 1959 in Tübingen ) is a German author and presenter. He moderates the private radio station Antenne 1 in Stuttgart , writes books for young people and moderates documentaries.

life and work

Matthias Raidt studied Catholic theology up to a degree in theology. From 1991 to 1997 he took part regularly in the excavations in Troia , which were directed by Manfred Korfmann . During this time he worked as an archaeologist and, as an author, shot the annual documentary films together with the Institute for Scientific Film (IWF Göttingen) and still advises broadcasters around the world on the subject of Troy.

The excavations gave rise to the first idea for the youth book Rüya and the Dream of Troy (2000). The first good success encouraged Raidt and the illustrator Christoph Haußner to write the children's book Drei Legionen für Rom - An Abenteuer um die Varusschlacht (2008), the audio book was published in April 2009. In June 2012, the third children's novel was finished, but has not yet been published . He also published a travel guide to Rome in 2015 .

For years, he presented the Dream-Team program and various live events and show acts on stage for the radio station Antenne 1 every Sunday . He is currently working as a museum guide in the Sülchenkirche near Rottenburg .
