The Filstalwelle (in today's spelling filstalwelle ) is a former private radio station in Baden-Württemberg and today a regional television station for the district of Göppingen . Since 2014 the Filstalwelle has been broadcasting a radio program as a two-hour program window on Radio fips .

The Filstalwelle was founded in 1986 as one of the first private radio broadcasters in Baden-Württemberg by the hospital radio operator Günther F. Lang and the entrepreneur Christoph Weirich.

history

On April 9, 1988, the program went under the name Radio FW1 - Filstalwelle 1 on the VHF frequencies 103.0 MHz for Göppingen and 107.9 MHz for Geislingen with a transmission power of 0.1 kW each. However, the Göppingen frequency had to be left to the citizens of Göppingen radio in the first few years from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

From 1994 the transmitter was only called Filstalwelle, the 107.9 MHz frequency was replaced by the 105.4 MHz from Oberböhringen, the 103.0 MHz moved to the Deutsches Haus am Boßler and the transmission power of both frequencies increased to 1 kW. As a result, the station could now also be received in large parts of the neighboring districts of Esslingen, Heidenheim, Alb-Donau and Ostalb. The Filstalwelle program was - in comparison to today's format radios - very broad and addressed a broad target group, plus extensive local reporting. It was broadcast live around the clock.

In 1997 a cooperation with the Stuttgart radio station Antenne 1 began , which meant the end of the Filstalwelle. The name was changed to Antenne Filstal and every day only a few hours of the program were produced in Göppingen. The majority of the program was taken over by antenna 1, suggesting a local reference with separate jingles on the two frequencies.

Due to a decision by the State Office for Communication , the transmission area was not put out to tender again and Antenne Filstal had to cease operations at the end of 2002. The frequency of 105.4 MHz was added to Antenna 1, and today Klassik Radio broadcasts at 103.0 MHz .

From 2014 to 2017 Filstalwelle broadcast a program window on Radio fips Monday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. under the name Filstalwelle Feierabend . A music program in the Hot-AC radio format , event tips, as well as world and regional news, traffic service and weather was broadcast. This was the only broadcast on Radio Fips in which advertising was broadcast. At the beginning of 2017 the Filstalwelle closing time was stopped again.
